Bat Alphabet Board

Bat Alphabet Board

October is the best for so many reasons. The trees are changing colors, the air is cool and crisp, and there are plenty of crunchy leaves to run your kids through outside. Without a doubt though, for me, the spooky parts are the most fun things about October!

My kids particularly enjoy all things creepy crawly, so I thought I'd inject our learning with a few haunting elements.

This Bat Alphabet Board is perfect for my Kindergartener. She loves the bright and colorful game board, and it holds her interest because there are three ways to play.

This board is a digital file, so no waiting on shipping! You can print it as an 11" x 17" or on a regular sheet of paper. Ours gets a lot of love so I will probably laminate a copy of the larger size.

It also comes with bat game pieces, letter matching cards, picture cards, and a paper di and spinner sheet. That's particularly handy if you don't have dice laying around. Just cut, tape, and roll!

The best part? The whole kit is only $2.99!

You can grab yours here so you can print and play today.

When you purchase you'll get:

  • 11" x 17" game board file
  • 8.5" x 11" game board file
  • Alphabet card cut outs
  • Bat game piece cutouts
  • Spinner and di page
  • Picture word cutouts

Game Play Method #1

After you have cut out your game pieces and spinner and/or di you will need to tape the di together. Each player will select a bat to move with (or you could use other things you have handy) and place them the left of the A. Spin or roll and count the spaces the bat moves. When the bat lands on the letter have the play say the letter name and sound. If they get it right then they'll stay on that letter. Play until all letters have been said.

Game Play Method #2

After you have cut out your game pieces and spinner and/or di you will need to tape the di together. Each player will select a bat to move with (or you could use other things you have handy) and place them to the left of the A. Spin or roll and count the spaces the bat moves. When the bat lands on the letter have the play say the letter name and sound and find the uppercase letter to match it from the alphabet card pile or the picture word card. Play until all letters are matched.

Game Play Method #3

Using only the alphabet cards and/or the picture word cards, place them upside down in a random order. The student will then play memory by flipping over one card and then another trying to find its match. Once they find the match have them say the letter name and sound. Set completed matches in a discard pile.

So not only are you getting an entire game for $2.99, three ways to play it, but you also are able to print and start today in your own home or classroom!
